Love Works Month

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. Hebrews 10:24

October is “Love Your Neighbor Month” at Landmark.  In a world where hate and hatefulness has become far too commonplace, we can show the love of Christ to those around us.  There will be several opportunities and challenges to show the love of Christ in our community this month.   Love does work!

Saturday October 3 – Park cleanup – Come prepared for outside work as we help our community cleanup at Armstrong park.  Meet at the church at 7:30 am to receive your shirt.

Wednesday October 7,14,21,28 – Galatians 6:2 Prayer teams - Galatians 6:2 says “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”  This will be a door to door visitation to find out the prayer needs of our community. Meet at the pastor’s office at 1:30 pm.

Saturday October 10 – Car Wash – Nope, not a fundraiser! Instead, we will be setting up downtown and washing people’s cars just to do something nice for them. This will be a great opportunity to interact with people for more than just a couple minutes. There are plenty of service opportunities for everyone of all ages and physical abilities. Meet at the church at 1:00 pm.

Saturday October 17 - Nursing Home – It has been such a trying time for the nursing home residents and staff.  Let’s encourage these wonderful people with a special gift! We will need a lot of cookies. We have also received permission to attach signs to the outside of the resident’s windows.  So, we need our kids to make a lot of encouraging signs.  We will meet at the activity center at 10:30 am and package your homemade treats for delivery.

Friday October 23 – Teacher and first Responder Appreciation -  Perhaps more than ever these community leaders need to know that we appreciate all that they do for us.  There will be a signup in the church foyer on how you can help with this event.

Saturday October 31 – Trunk or Treat – This is a great community outreach that we have used before.  Fill your trunk with goodies, decorate your vehicle if you choose, and show the love of Christ as people come through our parking lot.  We will start setting up at 5:00 pm.

Not enough?  There will also be individual “Love Works” challenges.  We encourage you to take one from the bulletin board in the church foyer.

More to come:

Saturday November 7 – Turning the World Upside Down Youth Conference

Sunday November 8-11 – Fall Revival

Join the excitement as we show the Love of Christ, and share the Gospel of Christ!
